EFT Masters Program – and Beyond
Perhaps you have heard of the EFT Masters, a small group of special EFT therapists. Each member of the Emotional Freedom Technique Masters program is unique in bringing a variety of EFT methods and backgrounds to their practice, but all share a true passion for EFT. In addition, they each have passed the challenging EFT Master examination.
The EFT Masters program ran from November 2005 to October 2007 when Gary Craig stopped the series for administrative reasons; currently, it no longer exists. Those who became certified banded together to offer quality EFT training to advance the understanding of Emotional Freedom Techniques.

To qualify for the program each EFT Master was expected to:
- Have used EFT with over 300 clients
- Have had a FULL time practice for over three years, with EFT as their primary modality
- Studied thoroughly, not just watched, ALL the EFT DVDs
- Attended EFT Trainings and received some level of consultation
- Conducted EFT Trainings for others
- Contribute to the worldwide spread of EFT
- Submit a video of a session AND an in depth complex issue case study
- Show in their marketing materials that EFT was identified as their primary modality
- Submit three letters of reference
The next step was to demonstrate their EFT skills with each other, Gary Craig and Ann Adams, Director of the EFT Masters Program and 20 or more spectators.
The last step was to complete a narrative examination concerning the modality with various EFT issues and its many nuances. After passing these three steps, they were each entitled to call themselves an EFT Master.
There are currently only 29 EFT Masters in the world, living and working in seven different countries, with the most heavily represented being the U.K. (11) and the U.S. (9) with members.
For administrative reasons, Gary Craig withdrew his involvement in the EFT Masters' Program in October of 2007. In June of 2008 he announced the start of the EFT Academic Certification program that is designed to identify Emotional Freedom Techniques practitioners who have invested the time and effort to learn the official EFT applications and use that knowledge in practice with their clients.
The Academic Certification program is intended to represent a solid level of knowledge concerning official EFT instruction at the Foundational, Intermediate or Honors Level. It will be proven by passing a challenging examination that thoroughly demonstrates an understanding of the material at each level.
Dr. Ted is currently enrolled in this challenging and exacting program, further proving his skill and expertise under this new EFT certification program under Gary Craig’s direction.
“It is my privilege to learn from Gary Craig through this educational program and prove my expertise within expanding universe of EFT Energy Psychotherapy. While I have never stopped learning about EFT from the first day I used it, my path now toward becoming an Honors Level EFT practitioner is now more clear.
My intention is to continue living up to this higher level of EFT practice, and expand the use of the virtual EFT office of the future, allowing a worldwide audience to discover and benefit from Energy Psychology as never before.”
